About us

© Andrew Aicthison
Sense International is the leading global charity that transforms the lives of deafblind people in less developed countries. We work with local organisations to provide services and raise awareness of the needs of deafblind people so they can connect, participate and contribute to their communities.
Sense International operates in Bangladesh, East Africa, India, Latin America and Romania. Since 1994 we have established vision and hearing screening programmes for young children, trained health and education professionals and persuaded governments to build infrastructures of support and services for deafblind people and their families.
In order to ensure a lasting and sustainable impact we invest in local professionals and organisations, influence governments and advocate for change. By working in partnership with local organisations, schools, health services and governments, we enable deafblind children and adults to unlock their potential and participate as full members of their families, communities and wider society.
