Cause-related marketing
Partnering with Sense International on a marketing campaign not only represents an opportunity to raise substantial funds to support our work, it is also a very visible way for a company to demonstrate its commitment to corporate social responsibility — a win–win opportunity for both partners.
Cause-related marketing involves marketing an image, product or service for the mutual benefit of your business and Sense International. It usually takes the form of an on-pack promotion with an agreed donation for each item sold.
In 2000, Business in the Community's 'Profitable Partnerships' research survey found that:
• 75% of chief executives, marketing directors and community affairs directors believe that cause-related marketing can enhance corporate or brand reputation
• 86% of consumers, when price and quality are equal, are more likely to choose a product or business associated with a 'cause'
• 80% felt increased loyalty to the brand and more positive about their purchase.
We will gladly work with partners to create an effective and memorable campaign to both meet their commercial requirements and raise funds to improve the lives of deafblind people in developing countries.
Example: Fashion Sense
In July 2006 Eliza Interiors & Design set up their first social enterprise project working with Sense International. An online shop has been created — Sense International at Eliza — together with a collection of beautiful home furnishings and accessories made from donated silk saris and other organic materials.
Due to the nature of the fabrics, the products are unique one-of-a-kind creations that can never be reproduced in exactly the same way. This allows everyone to own an individual piece for their home in the knowledge that their purchase will, in some way, help some of the most marginalised people in the world.
