Achievements

Sense International Latin America: 

• Helped deafblind people to get on local committees of disabled people in Brazil, Colombia and Peru.
• Is represented on the national committee of disabled people in Colombia.
• Ran the 'We Count' campaign across Latin America, resulting in the recognition of deafblindness as a unique disability in Colombia.
• Successfully lobbied the Ministry of Health of Bolivia to officially recognise deafblindness as a unique disability.
• Introduced an innovative online fundraising course for our partner organisations to help them raise their own funds locally.
• Has been awarded more than £350,000 by the Community Fund (formerly the National Lottery) to build on our services for deafblind adults over the next three years.
