Our strategy
Sense International works globally but keeps costs low by maximising the strengths of local people and communities.
Our international offices are staffed by local professionals with local knowledge in the countries where we work. And our programmes are designed to make local organisations and health and education systems stronger so they can better meet the needs of deafblind people.
Our local focus and commitment to supporting the financial and operational independence of our partners enables us to put as much money as possible into providing more services - only 8% of our revenue is spent on administration.
In 2000, Sense International won the UK International Charity of the Year Award for our cost-effective approach to helping deafblind people in developing countries.
