 Sense International Ball 2009

A combination of fabulous prizes, a glamorous venue and generous guests helped raise an amazing £75,000 at Sense International's first ever ball at the Waldorf Hilton on 31 January.

Fantastic auction prizes were quickly snapped up, culminating in two lucky guests bidding to be stars on the big screen in the next film by Gurinder Chadha OBE. The celebrated director of ‘Bend it like Beckham' and ‘Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging' will provide the winners with extras roles in her new comedy horror film, which she described on the night as "Bend it like Beckham meets Shaun of the Dead."  

Over 250 guests enjoyed sumptuous food and wine in stunning surroundings which was complimented by five star entertainment with performances from three times British National Amateur Latin American Champions Lisa Darby and Gregor Rebula and a surprise turn from ‘Incognito', the Singing Waiters.

Proceeds from the event were evenly split between Sense International and Hilton in the Community Foundation, two organisations working to transform the lives of vulnerable children across the world.
