Trek Santiago de Compostela

CaminoIf you're ready for a new challenge this year, then join us as we Trek Santiago de Compostela from 28 Sept - 4 Oct 2009. This challenging pilgrimage takes you on a stunning trek across the North West of Spain.

Trekking the final 100km of the Camino de Santiago, the most transited ‘Camino Frances', you will follow the footsteps of millions of pilgrims before you. Whether you are Catholic or not, there is something very special about taking part in an experience shared over generations, by so many others. At the end of your journey, you will be rewarded with the ‘Compostela', a certificate confirming your pilgrimage.

Over five days of walking you will take in lush farmland, rivers, rolling hills, green fields and hamlets where the locals are usually keen to chat to the pilgrims passing through. Along the way you can expect to see signs of the pilgrimage everywhere from medieval carvings, paintings and sculptures to the numerous scallop shells which have come to be the most recognized symbol of the trail. One of the highlights though is undoubtedly the architectural achievements of the churches and monasteries en-route.

To take part on this adventure, we hope that you will commit to raising sponsorship for Sense International and in this way, help us to make a significant difference to the lives of some of the most isolated deafblind and multi sensory impaired children in the world. With your support, we can transform lives.
