Chausika, who is from Tanzania, had a tough start to life – the fifth of seven children – and there was a lot of competition for attention.
Due to her disability she struggled to be a part of the family – she couldn’t walk or eat without support nor manage her own personal care needs.
Sense International has now funded a support worker who visits her family, and Chausika has now made huge progress. She is interacting with her brothers and sisters, can feed herself and is attending a day centre where she is learning daily living skills.
