When Rajesh, who is deaf, started to lose his sight, his school felt they could no longer cope with him and he was left to stay at home in his village.
Several years later, the Blind People’s Association in Ahmedabad, which is a partner of Sense International, found him and started to teach him mobility and work skills.
Today Rajesh runs a phone booth and shop in a kiosk in the middle of his village. He knows he has a customer when he feels the vibration of someone stepping into the shop. Today he can fluently communicate through sign language and palm writing and has an amazing memory of people.
