Why we need the fund?

We estimate that 800 children will need some kind of aid each year and together they will cost £35,000. That is just £43.75 per child.

These aids are key to helping children reach their potential. With support they can become happy and active members of their families and the communities they live in.

Prices vary from country to country and on what is available. For example, Noorjahan's hearing aids have an old fashioned type of long-life battery which she wears in a pouch hung around her neck. In Kenya, hearing aids average out at around £170 whereas in Uganda we get them free from a manufacturer.
