HRH The Princess Royal, Patron of global deafblind charity Sense International, attended a fundraising ball at Banqueting House, in Whitehall yesterday evening, helping to raise funds for a new Bangladesh appeal.

The event was the launch of ‘My Turn to Learn’, the new appeal by Sense International, which will fund a pioneering new programme to improve access to education and opportunities to work for children and young adults with deafblindness in Bangladesh.

The UK Government is supporting the appeal, matching pound for pound all public donations made between 18 October and 17 January 2018.

During her speech, The Princess Royal, said:

“It gives me great pleasure to launch Sense International’s My Turn to Learn 2017 appeal for Bangladesh.  Starting tonight, we are asking you to help us change the future for thousands of children and young people with deafblindness.”

Director of Sense International, Alison Marshall, said:

“We are grateful to everyone who pledged their support during this fantastic event. We are overwhelmed by their generosity and thanks to them we are closer to transforming the lives of children and young people with deafblindness across Bangladesh.”
