Sense India wins prestigious award
28 July 2014
Sense International India has won a prestigious national award for its work in supporting and campaigning for deafblind children and adults.
The team won the "India NGO Award 2013-14" for a middle sized organisation at a ceremony in New Delhi last week. Sense India beat off competition from 400 other applicants after being assessed by a panel of eight members. It had to show examples of best practice, transparency and effective use of the organisation's resources.
The India NGO Awards are a national competition that aims to celebrate and reward the best non-governmental and non-profit organisations. It recognises those organisations that have demonstrated best practice in governance, finance and the impact that they make in the community.
Director of Sense India Akhil Paul said:
"We are thrilled to win this national award and it reflects the hard work that all our staff have been doing in campaigning and supporting deafblind adults and children across India."
