On 3 December 2013, to coincide with the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Bond DDG held an event in the UK Parliament, which was a great opportunity for NGOs like Sense International to make sure that disability is truly on the Government's international development agenda.

Fifteen per cent of the world's population lives with a disability (World Health Organisation World Report on Disability 2011), yet in the current Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) there isn't a single mention of disability.
