9 April 2014
On Monday 7 April, polling stations in India opened for the first phase of a six week general election.
To coincide with this, The Guardian is hosting a live chat on Thursday 10 April which asks how we can ensure that India's growth benefits all, and how high on the agenda is inequality for the country's new, young, electorate.
Akhil Paul, Director of Sense International (India) will be joining a distinguished panel of academics and representatives of NGOs.
You can join the chat on the Guardian website on Thursday 10 April 2014, from 1 to 3pm.
