What is payroll giving?

Payroll giving is a scheme that allows anyone who pays UK income tax to donate regularly to charity. Payroll giving donations are taken straight from your pay slip and from your gross (pre-tax) pay.

What are the benefits of payroll giving?

Because payroll giving donations are taken from your gross (pre-tax) pay, your donation is tax free. For example, a donation of £5 a month costs the basic tax payer £4 – the taxman pays the difference! Payroll giving donations are also beneficial to Sense International, as we do not need to claim back tax through Gift Aid, which reduces our administration costs.

Why should I support Sense International?

Nearly a quarter of a million people are deafblind in the UK. Your regular support through payroll giving will help us provide vital services to children and adults with deafblindness. You'll be helping Sense International to enable people with deafblindness gain independence and explore their potential.

How can I set up a payroll giving donation?

It is quick and easy to sign up - simply fill in our online sign-up form to set up your payroll giving donation. You'll be taken to a page provided by a Professional Fundraising Organisation, who will process your donation on behalf of Sense International.

How much should I give?

Deciding how much to donate is your personal decision. Your gift to Sense International, however large or small, will make a real difference to the lives of people with deafblindness.

How do I know that Sense International is receiving my payroll giving donation?

If you have opted in to receiving communications from Sense International, we will send you a welcome pack to thank you for your payroll giving donation, and to give you further information about how your donation will be spent. Your donation will also appear on your payslip.

What should I do if I change employer?
