We are pleased to announce that CONADIS (the national authority on disability in Peru) has awarded Sense International Peru the award for ‘Inclusivity and Disability’ for the second year running.

Last year was the first year of the awards and Sense International Peru won first place for the award in the education category. This year, SI Peru has won the entrepreneurship award for their Skills for Life programme.

Our vocational training work has given young people with deafblindness the chance to learn practical skills in bakery and massage therapy and to receive training in business plan development. Many have gone on to set up their own business venture.

Ricardo Zevallos, Director of SI Peru, and Kiomi Parraga Cordero, Programmes Coordinator, attended the award ceremony on Friday 18th November. We are so proud of our team in Peru!
