In Celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we are excited to share the launch of Sensi!

An Illustration of Sensi

An animated character brought together through the hard work of our SI Romania team and launched today to nearly 200 children, young people, and teachers.

Sensi is a child with deafblindness who helps other children learn more about online safety. This is part of Sense International Romania’s Online Safety for Children with Sensory Impairments Project, funded by Orange Foundation through the programme “The World through Colour and Sound”. The project offers children with sensory impairments the tools, knowledge and confidence necessary to reduce the risk of online abuse.

There are 6 episodes of Sensi’s Online Adventures where the character observes a series of risky situations online and in daily life. Sensi draws children’s attention to the risks they may encounter and how they can protect themselves when they surf the internet.

Amazing work SI Romania!

In other countries around the world SI is celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities through involvement in live and virtual events. For example, Sense International Uganda will participate in a symposium organised by the Ministry of Gender, a Forum run by the National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda, and a Statehouse event led by the President. SI Kenya will be represented at events in Homa Bay, Dadaab refugee camp and a Presidential ceremony in Nairobi.
